CoachAccountable is Now 14!

A cake with a green sash and topped by numeral "14" candles.

I’d’ve hired someone to design us a new cake, but it’s not in the budget. Just kidding, I don’t like change.

Has it been another year already?  I don’t think there’s been a smoother year on the books for CoachAccountable’s operations; the time just flew by.  Even this annual write up is late (though in my defense, on the usual August 30th press date I was on a private lake getaway with family, and with our offer on a house having been accepted during our drive up, we’ve since had the buzz and busy-ness that THAT entails!).

But yes, in CoachAccountable’s 14th year things have been smooth as silk as we chugged along serving our thousands of coaches.  With the exception of that CloudFlare outage that took down like a third of the internet for a few hours last November, it’s been literally perfect uptime in our still-shiny-18-months-in hosting environment.

This last year saw the addition of the two remaining highly sought after integrations: MS Teams and Google Meet.

Fueled the rising tide of AI which makes programmatic integrations easy for even non-coders, we saw a rash of requests to tweak and extend the CA API, which I was happy to honor.  Webhooks were also added, and that combination makes CA play nicely with AI agents if you want to roll your own automations and integrations.

The Release Notes chronicle 23 bug fixes, 16 UI tweaks, and 14 minor feature enhancements.  These numbers reflect less polishing than previous years, because my goodness CoachAccountable is already quite polished: it really is a complete product for doing what it’s built to do.

So this year has been a re-focus on the basics, in lieu of chasing ever more complicated and niche features.  To broadly and meaningfully contribute to coaches and the work they do, new features beyond the already rather complete set aren’t going to cut it.  And so the real work of this year has been The CoachAccountable Perspective, which I launched back in December.

The CoachAccountable Perspective

It’s a growing series on how to have your brilliant coaching conversations be powered by the sort of accountability that drives action; action which ultimately causes results that live out there in the world (i.e. not just feel-good insights that live between your clients’ two ears).

In other words: how to coach more effectively, and do so in a way is more attractive to those not yet acquainted with your brilliance.

But I can’t just go out and say that because it’s way too vague, and everyone’s promising that.

So you really have to give it a try and see if it speaks to you.  They are short, 2-4 minute reads.  You can even listen to me perform them for you.  Some of my recent favorites are If We’re Chasing “Pie in the Sky”, Call Us On It, Healthy Coaching is Action-Oriented, and Real Results Given by Real Measures.

The operational smoothness of CA and taking a break from building whiz-bang new features have afforded me time to think deeply about coaching, especially what it’s been like in my many experiences on the receiving end.  And that is what I’ve been putting together to share with you all, as a natural part of my overall quest to elevate the practice of coaching so that millions more can get the sort of transformative, literally life-altering results that I have.

Not a bad way to spend the year.

As always, it remains my pleasure to serve the coaching industry in general, and the CoachAccountable community in particular.

Onward.
