CoachAccountable Turns 8 Today!

Like Version 4, this year’s cake embodies more contemporary tastes by eschewing gradients and rounded corners.

What a lovely year it’s been in CoachAccountable land!

And not just because it marks another year of not having any sort of bug database.  (I’m proud to report that the policy of just fixing whatever’s amiss, within minutes of me learning about it, continues to work swimmingly.)

CA’s 8th year saw a number of strides forward in service of the coaching industry.

The biggest, most widely-affecting change is certainly the release of Version 4, a bright new look for the entire app AND unifying of Basic and Team Edition (i.e. Team Edition is now available to all at the same, lower price of single-coach accounts).  Both aspects have been very well received.

We’ve added a few new integrations with other systems: Zoom, Apple Calendar, and PayPal.  CoachAccountable is now published as a ready-to-go integration on Zapier, opening up integration possibilities even further.

We’ve added more features to really flesh out existing functionality, like Group Whiteboards, Group Action Plans, access for inactive clients, support for multiple currencies, and the usual smattering of other enhancements sprinkled about.

We’ve added a third to our team, Jaclyn, and thus further established our ability to serve an ever growing segment of the coaching industry.  And by adding her charismatic and caring expertise to that of Morgan’s, we’ve been reaching out and having one-on-one sessions with the community like never before.

But perhaps the thing I’m most proud of in year 8 is the Webinar Series, which has really started to take on a significance not originally imagined.

At first, I envisioned a sort of “how to” series: clicking around the app and narrating the ins and outs of how to set things up and get things done.  But in this last year in particular it’s taken on a rather difference character.

The Webinar Series

I still delight in folks wondering after how I do those drawings. Answer: by hand, and with my daughter’s colored pencils. :)

They’ve evolved into lessons where I illustrate and make arguments for ideas to genuinely run a better coaching business and give clients more.  These ideas are powered by what CoachAccountable makes possible, but I spend very little time in-app showing nuts-and-bolts.

Doing that is itself fun, but the real joy is in the difference we’re hearing it make.  During the most recent one, Designing Your Coaching Business Model, one attendee said:

…That graphic?  Wow.  You’ve just made the roadmap clearer…  Thank you: you’ve just move the whole coaching profession forward…

You can find the Webinar Series here.

Looking Ahead

As I have said in this space most other years, we still have a lot up our sleeves to forward CA in service to the community.  And consistent with my penchant for secrecy around future app development, we ain’t sayin’ nothin’ about what that is. :)

BUT, just as you might gather from similar missives marking year 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7, you can rest assured it will continued to be powered by the insights and perspectives that we collectively get from all of you.

From me, Morgan and Jaclyn, we thank you all for sharing what would allow you to do your work better, and for letting us be of service to that work.

Onward!

    Hi John and CA Team!
As always I am your number one fan from almost the beginning of CA (6 mos in??)!!!
I am so grateful to have met you John – the timing was so very perfect, if you remember. CA has continued to grow and I am amazed at the difference between now and that first year. The functionality is exceptional in meeting the needs of a master coach and team and that you have added the team ability at the same price. I am so excited to get started as I already have another coach that works with me, so now all new client set ups will be easier. I have another being trained and am excited to keep on moving forward especially during this time of so much need by our clients.
My warmest wishes for continued happiness and success……..

I’m a newbie to CA and am excited about the possibilities. I added two new clients and found CA about a month ago. I switched from another coaching app.

We started with appointments, pre/post session worksheets, action items, and journaling for clients and I use session notes and files.

I am learning about and piloting various uses of metrics and can’t wait to incorporate them into each client’s journey.

John and Jaclyn have already helped me with answers to questions and advice. And Jaclyn and I are meeting 1:1 next week. How cool is that!?

I’m new, but may I sign up for the freshman membership in the CA Fan Club, please? :)

    Cheers!

@Dawn, most definitely! In fact I’ll be happy to grant you full-fledged membership–your diving in as thoroughly as you have entitles you to nothing less. Enjoy your time with Jaclyn!

@Brad, you’re most welcome! So glad to know CA has served you so well already.

And @Twila, indeed you’ve been around for some time! I just had quite the trip down memory lane to re-read the first email you ever sent me, with all 15 of its in-depth questions, dated February 25th, 2013! It’s fun to see how many of those things you asked around future functionality eventually became full-fledged features in CA. Thanks for being a true fan for so much of this journey; your track record of weighing in with kind words on CA’s birthday is truly exemplary and warms my heart. :)

Another birthday so soon??? Wow, can’t quite believe it’s been 8 years. Though I have forgotten what it was like without CA :-)
Keep up the tremendous work and loving Ver 4.

Well done – John & team for building a great platform and achieving the milestone of 8 years old! Thanks for all the helpful content. All the best for the future!

    Eight! Wowsers!
Firstly, massive congratulations on hitting this milestone.
For my two types of coaching, this platform works so well. The ability to have EVERYTHING under one roof really makes it easy for me to administer my clients. I know as well that my clients really like the platform – I think the only feedback I’ve ever had is that they wished there was an App so they could get push notifications rather than emails/texts to update their metrics and action reminders. Food for thought perhaps?
    Keep up the amazing work!

Happy birthday guys. I love the simplicity married with the rich features. I am only just getting going with my business and for sure this will be a core component of my customer platform. Love it!

    John,

As always great milestones and great functionality!! I always share my experience with other coaches when meeting with them and my clients always ask – did you create this Tim? and this just opens the first coaching experience where it is best to partner with those that do awesome things rather than trying to create something that just gets by for yourself…

Thanks to Coach Accountable for being AWESOME!! and helping my team and I be successful!!

I am so happy with this product as it pertains to my Coaching Business and really impressed with the constant effort put into bettering the system through enhancements. Thanks for keeping us organized so that good coaches can simply “coach” and not worry about all of the other things that it takes to run a successful practice. Looking forward to many more years to come!

Congrats! Pretty soon you’ll be double digits and then the teen years… You might want to outsource the leadership role during those times :)

THanks for creating a great product that really serves!

@JohnK Thanks for being with me since literally* Day 1. (*And not in the popular-and-recently-sanctioned-by-dictionaries-for-some-reason misusing sense of the word, but ACTUALLY since Day 1.) Time flies when you’re having fun, amiright?!

@Joel, glad you’re digging the content! Thanks to talking with so many coaches we’ve distilled insights worth sharing and are delighted to do so.

@Jamie, so glad we’ve hit that mythical “all-in-one” mark for you! As for an app, well, after careful consideration I’ve concluded that would be terrible: https://blog.coachaccountable.com/2019/06/why-there-is-no-coachaccountable-app-in-any-app-store-and-probably-never-will-be/ :)

@Karstan Marrying simplicity to rich features is one of those delicate balancing acts… glad to hear we’ve hit it!

@Tim Thanks as always for being such an outspoken fan. Missed you last webinar!

@Drew count us honored to have earned that love.

@Mike Yes! Eliminating the slog of managing business bits so you all can focus on what really counts was (and remains) one of the original aims of this whole thing. Will keep making it better!

@Brad: Outsource the leadership role?! Why would I want to do that? ;)

Welcome @Richard, glad to see you off to the races and we’ve enjoyed helping to get you started!

I am new to Coach Accountable and I am blown away by the level of Customer Service, Smart Features this platform has. I have a background in digital technology and I know what it takes to make a robust platform. John I want to congratulate you on making a seamless platform that allows me to focus on my coaching practice while your technology takes care of the admin stuff and best of all creates an enhanced experience for my clients. I can go on and on… simply said, every coach should incorporate CA into their practice. Coach Cathy

    Happy Birthday! and Congratulations!
CA helps an independent entrepreneur stay organized! There is so much that I love about CA…but what is most relevant at the moment is how it keeps track of my coaching hours. I just recently had to recertify and it couldn’t have been easier to report my hours coached! Thank you! And my only suggestion is in regard to the same process. Sometimes I miss the window to cancel a missed appointment…and as far as I can tell, I can’t do that after a certain number of days. I usually catch it when doing my monthly reporting.

I love the webinars, too! Thanks for those…AND for being readily available for quick support when I don’t really know how/where to find the info in the loads of support that you offer.

    Great work!

    With gratitude,
    Cami

I’m looking forward to reading ALL of the previous posts to get more acclimated in order to increase my clientele. Success for more years to come.

    Happy birthday!

I think it was Einstein who said “In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.”

And so it’s been for me this year. Covid had me scrabbling around, desperately looking for ways to digitise my coaching and I came across CA.

Truly a transformational tool that has changed everything about the way I coach – for the better.

Every success to you John, Morgan and Jaclyn :-)

Thank you so much John, Morgan, and Jaclyn for being so hands on with everything. The amount of value you bring to the table is astounding. There are so many programs out there that promise to do something, but CA actually does it. I moved from Kajabi over to CA because I felt like I can actually take care of my clients well. Coming from a teaching background (prior to becoming a coach), I am so happy to know there is a LOT of thought from a coach/educator’s perspective (and not just tech/dev).

    Happy 8th birthday CA!
